Be
sure to check your outbuildings, sheds and garages and those of your
neighbors. Pets can wander into these buildings without any one knowing
and end up being shut in. Which way was the wind blowing when your pet
(dogs in particular) went missing? Dogs follow their nose and can end up
getting lost when they follow it too far.
Make
up fliers of your pet WITH A PICTURE and take them to your local
veterinarians. Give one to the mail carrier. Post them in a prominent
place in the most heavily trafficked places in the area that you can think
of. Put fliers up at school. Children often pay attention to animals
that adults often ignore.
Be sure to call an ad
in to your paper right away. Contact local pet rescues. There is a list
on the
Shelter and Pet Rescue Page.
They work closely with local shelters and vets and may know about your
pet. They may also have other helpful suggestions to help you find your
pet. |
